Awana Grand Prix

The Awana Grand Prix is a model car race. This is an optional event for interested families and is not tied to club completion or awards in any way.

Participation

Clubbers registered in an Awana club for the current year may choose to purchase small kits that include a pine wood block (either a full block or a partially pre-carved block) and plastic wheels. Cars are typically built at home with the help of a parent/guardian. Please note that cars cannot be reused from one year to another — a new car must be purchased each year.

Race Categories

Car entries are grouped into two categories and compete separately:

Cubbies & Sparks
T&T & Trek

Prizes are awarded for both speed and overall car design.

Event Details

Car kits are available for purchase on Tuesday nights beginning in November.
The Grand Prix races take place at Bethel Gospel Chapel on a Saturday in January.
